International female artists spend six weeks researching their different methods and approaches to artistic creation and expressing their “Feminist Voices in Circus”.
At the end of their artistic residency at CircusMühle Kelbra, the rehearsal rooms will be opened and they will show their work processes and research in an open Showing.
The event provides an insight into artistic research and rehearsals as part of the CultureMovesEurope residency of KunstRaum Kelbra e.V. " Feminist Voices in Circus Arts" and the showing will be followed by discussions with the audience.

Less Kuerdas is an all-female contemporary circus company based in Europe. It was founded by Laia Picas, Bryony Fowler, Eleftheria Sarrigiannidou and Caro Wuttke in February 2022. The rope, metaphorically and practically, is the connection and the heart of the company. As Less Kuerdas the four members want to explore on and off stage, what collectivity means and share this sense of being together with the public.
Cia Mandibula is a trio that does performances on duo trapeze, pole dance and dance. Julia Negrao Faria and Esther Dorleans met in Portugal at INAC - Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo, where they became life partners and artistic collaborators, founding the Mandibula Company together. When they moved to Paris in 2023 they met Kathrin Schweizer. The trio then started to train together on the pole and connected furthermore in discovering Paris' underground queer cabaret scene together and developed a deep artistic connection. They see themselves as artisans, always seeking new ways to express themselves genuinely. Their belief in embracing their individuality and the strength of their relationship makes their artistry authentic.
