They come from outside, perhaps seeking refuge from a storm? A war? The chaos of the world? They are carrying luggage with them and together they carry an iron bar. At first they straighten it up uncertainly. Suddenly we find ourselves in the middle of a circus. The lost group becomes an ensemble that uses acrobatics, theater, music and poetry to tell the story of the legendary circus director Paula Busch, who leads her circus through the war and chaos of the 1920s and reinvents it - as a woman in a male domain.
A revue of poetic and humorous scenes unfolds in which the great passage of time and social conventions repeatedly threaten individual happiness.
In combination with touching acrobatics, the life and love story of a pioneer of circus art is brought to life. Two actors, a clown, two artists and a musician take the audience into a world in which courage and love shine in times of crisis.

Four people from the worlds of circus and theater: Ida Cramer, Sara Spennemann, Daniel Megnet and Robert Nemack share the vision of connecting these worlds.
We combine physical and language-based narrative forms. We see the friction that arises from this connection as a metaphor for the conflicts of a human life, but also those of a society.
