After the giant 3D arch, presented last season, Jonathan Guichard creates another unusual apparatus: a 6-meter diameter spinning top, as a new play partner. On this unstable surface, two acrobats will attempt to meet...
As the spinning top tilts, tips, pivots, or spins, two bodies are revealed, perched on this unstable playground. Initially out of sight, they appear fragmentarily, in all their singularity. Then, movement comes into play, and as the acrobats reveal themselves, chaos, uncertainty, and fortunate accidents begin, which will - or perhaps not! - lead to harmony.
In a continuation of his previous research with 3D, the spinning top imposes its instability and movement. It either fuels or hinders the encounter, merging the bodies into a single tangled being, which alternately seeks or unravels itself. From the particular conditions of this apparatus emerges a unique circus work and a reflection on the conditions of the emergence of feelings.
Circus artist and composer, recently settled in Ariège, Jonathan Guichard founded the H.M.G. company in 2015. He is interested in the physical constraints on the circus body and the narratives that arise from the playing space. His writing weaves together different languages: circus, dance, theater, music, and light. Choreographic artist, Lauren Bolze met Jonathan Guichard in 2019. After creating the choreographic part of the show Nouje in 2022, she embarks on a new turn in her career by co-signing the piece Thaumazein.
