We all experienced injuries a hundred times, from scratches to stitches, from the little twist to the serious sprain, from the cotton soaked in mercurochrome to the surgery. Every circus artist already experienced injury or will one day, but are they, in fact, unconscious ? How many times did I heard some « you are out of your mind ! », « don’t you have any mat or a net ? », « can’t you fasten ? ». But how many of them will come to see the performance if the acrobatics would be obstructed by the mat, if the stage direction were tainted by a lanyard ? Without confessing it, the audience is trying to get over its own fears through the body of the circus artist, wouldn’t it ?
