Immerse yourself in the streets of Conakry, amidst dust and breeze blocks, music and song, shouts, dancing, and the hope for a better life. Especially for women.
The Guinean company Circus Baobab blends high-flying acrobatics with profound themes. On stage, six women show three male partners what they’re made of. United in solidarity, they juggle with rudimentary apparatus, twirl on the Russian bar, perform stunts on the Chinese pole, and sing and dance krump, with an energy that commands respect.
Yann Ecauvre of Cirque Inextrémiste continues his collaboration with Circus Baobab in a whirlwind of a show, free from clichés and compromises.
