High (on) Fashion’ is a contemporary circus project that talks about waste, specifically textile waste. It talks about the overconsumption of fashion and the negative impacts of it on our society , using circus techniques on a 6m high Chinese pole and on the floor to communicate. The aim is to spread awareness about the urgency of the topic and initiate rethinking fashion consumption on a small scale. That’s why the idea of the project is not only to create a circus show, but an event in which the audience is invited to watch a circus show about this topic and afterwards has the opportunity to exchange their not wanted clothes with each other. The audience is invited to join a journey of an abstract consume of clothes, a world in which clothes magically appear, disappear and fly, pushing the character on stage to her physical and mental limits.
