Break the barrier between artist and audience. Immerse yourself in a world of literature and circus.
The night circus.
During the event, excerpts from the novel The Night Circus will be read aloud during an open training session that welcomes all forms of performing arts. The readings will be performed by a narrator, accompanied by live music from a drummer.
During this time, artists are free to use the open space to practice their tricks or present short performances. We’re also doing away with the traditional division between stage and audience—depending on where visitors choose to stand or sit, they’ll get the chance to observe different circus artists and disciplines from unique perspectives.
This event is inspired by Erin Morgenstern’s novel The Night Circus —a story largely set within a mysterious circus that appears unannounced, opens its gates at nightfall, and disappears before dawn.
