Analogie d’un exil is a circus performance blending music, sound narration, and acrobatics into a deeply personal journey. Two performers carry the legacy of South American exile, weaving together intimate stories and powerful physical expression to explore identity, memory, and the return of authoritarian ideologies — from past to present, across continents. A cry from the heart, reminding us that history can always repeat itself.
We enter Analogie d’un exil through Aimé’s story: forced into exile, first from Uruguay, then from Argentina, in a political climate dominated by the far right. He eventually finds refuge in France and rebuilds his life — but over time, the past and present begin to echo each other. This time, the political and ideological crisis is unfolding in France, just as it once did in his homeland.
On stage, this dialogue between sound and movement invites us to reflect together: why share these memories today, from the other side of the ocean? As recent elections in Argentina — and across Europe — have shown, the rise of extremism is creeping back into our societies. Honoring memory has never felt more urgent — so we don’t forget that it can all happen again.
