BEYOND is a dynamic, exhilarating, and poetic circus and dance performance that explores, challenges, and ultimately overcomes boundaries. Choreographer Piet Van Dycke works with six professional artists, each specializing in a different discipline (ladder climbing, acro dance, acrobiking, partner acrobatics, and (pole) dancing). On stage, they emerge as boundless bridge-builders.
Using ladders of varying size and height, players build impressive structures, such as arched sculptures and rotating cranes. They balance ladders to create a thrilling, wobbly playing field. They explore unknown heights, climb, float, and dare to perform daring choreography. Every centimeter and every second matters. They explore extremes and discover how far they can push each other. Physical dependence has never been so exciting…
