Two unequal bodies collide acrobatically: 42 centimeters separate them in height, 42 kilograms in weight. A difference that connects and creates possibilities rather than being an obstacle. Three wooden boxes become partners in the play, balancing differences, enlarge them or keep the artist pair suspended.
Chris Iris combines contemporary circus with physical theater, dance, and puppetry. In a touching and original way, the two show how relationships can change and transform how people can meet on equal terms. With precision, poetry and humor, they speak of inequalities and togetherness. Philosophical questions are raised, absurd moments provoke a smile, and a touch of magic permeates their seemingly gravity-defying performances.
The duo Iris Pelz and Christopher Schlunk enjoy worldwide success together with renowned circus companies. The pair has received prestigious awards at festivals in Moscow and Paris for their hand-to-hand acrobatics. They are the attraction at the Chamäleon Theater Berlin and the London venue Roundhouse, both temples of circus art. In 2024, Chris Iris won the Baden-Württemberg Cabaret Prize with "GAP of 42."
