As the world rapidly evolves—both in our daily routines and professional landscapes—we find ourselves increasingly confronted with two questions: “Was this made by a human?” and “How quickly could AI have done it?” From the perspective of capability and productivity, AI often makes human effort appear almost obsolete. In just a few short years, artificial intelligence has become deeply embedded in our lives, and now, when we look at an image, video, portrait, or even a work of art, we instinctively question the role played by human creativity versus machine efficiency.
“Made by Person” is a dance performance by Aerowaves artist Artūrs Nīgalis, in which three performers confront and resist their own natural impulses as they interact with kettlebells suspended from the ceiling. The piece explores the tension between instinct, resistance, and control—both human and imposed.
